About the Asian Governance Foundation

The Asian Governance Foundation is a charitable foundation registered under Thai law. It conducts its operations as a think tank, provider of advisory services and as a platform for academic research and knowledge exchange. The Foundation’s focus is on South, Southeast and East Asia. The geographical scope is reflected in terms of content and network, as well as by the composition of AGF’s Advisory Board.

In accordance with its statute, the AGF pursues several goals: The AGF seeks to promote and support academic administration to adopt principles of good governance; it promotes and supports universities to adopt principles of good governance in courses offered; contributes to and enhances knowledge about good governance by offering and organizing academic conferences, research, training, scholarships and academic publishing.

The AGF engages with good governance for the benefit of society, focuses on activities in the public interest and cooperates with other organizations to lend support and advance its goals in a cooperative manner.

The AGF supports the work of the German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good Governance.

In cooperation with CPG, AGF publishes Asia in Review, a news review of recent happenings in the region. Through this newsletter, we gather and share the most important news and analyses from East, South and Southeast Asia.

Among the Foundation’s cooperation partners are governmental authorities, judicial and law enforcement bodies, international organizations, academic institutions, non-governmental organizations and a range of stakeholders of the private sector.
